Cavi-Lipo is the most evolved system for the treatment of adipose areas and cellulitis.

High Ultrasound/cavitation waves stimulate and vibrate the fat cells at such a high rate that it causes tiny air molecules to form, which are negative in pressure. These tiny air “bubbles” force their way out of the cell, and by doing so, burst the fat cell.

Cavi-Lipo emulsifies fat and converts solid fat into a liquid substance that is easy to remove through the lymphatic and urinary systems.

When was Ultrasound Cavitation Non-Surgical “Liposuction” aka Cavi-Lipo first introduced?

Ultrasound Cavitation Non-Surgical “Liposuction” was introduced for the first time in Milan, Italy in 2005 under the Italian name “Cavitazione Estetica” [although the physical phenomenon called cavitation has been well known since the 1960’s]. It has been used in Europe since that time and has gained popularity because of its safety and the procedure does not carry the risk of pain and side effects that can occur with surgical liposuction. It is also much less costly than surgical liposuction and there is also no disruption to your life or schedule due to “recovery time”.

How does Ultrasound Cavi-Lipo work?

Ultrasound frequencies cause thousands of microscopic air bubbles to surround the lipocyte (fat cell) membranes and with vibration, the bubbles create enough pressure to cause the fat cells to break up instantly. The contents of the broken lipocytes are then moved through the lymphatic system to the liver and are safely metabolized and excreted from the body, assisted by drinking plenty of water both the day of treatment and on subsequent days. The procedure works best to remove superficial fat layers and fat accumulation that is non-volumetric. Results can be noticed after the first treatment with more significant improvement noticed within a few days. Each treatment builds upon the previous treatment.

​Why is it called Ultrasound Cavitation Non-Surgical Lipo aka Cavi-Lipo?

The therapy uses low-level ultrasound to emulsify fat. Cavitation means the breaking down of the fatty tissue. Noninvasive, non-surgical “liposuction” means the fat will be removed in a natural fashion through the lymphatic and urinary systems at the pace your body decides it can tolerate.

How is it possible to remove solid fat through the lymphatic and urinary systems?

Cavi-Lipo emulsifies fat and converts solid fat into a liquid substance that is easy to remove through the lymphatic and urinary systems. Some of the melted fat will be used for energy and the rest will be excreted through the urine that is why drinking water is essential. If you do not drink adequate water before and after each treatment, it will be harder for your system to remove the fat. You may notice an increase in urination after each session.

Is Cavi-Lipo painful?

No. Most clients consider the procedure painless and comfortable. During the treatment, you will feel a soothing warmth in the targeted area. A little “blushing” or reddening may occasionally appear but it does not cause pain. The warmth generated is perfectly tolerable. You should hear a slight ringing in your ears due to the low-frequency ultrasound, but it poses no harm and disappears as soon as you are not in contact with the transducers it is a safe treatment.

Is it possible to lose weight with Cavi-Lipo?

Because you are reducing fat deposits you may experience some weight loss but Ultrasound Cavi-Lipo itself is not a weight loss treatment. Its purpose is to treat adipose fat and cellulite, which will reduce the circumference of the treated area. Diet and lifestyle suggestions will be recommended to follow throughout your treatment program in order to enhance the elimination of fat deposits and boost results.

Am I a good candidate for Ultrasound Cavi-Lipo?

Our Cavi-Lipo system is ideal for people who are dissatisfied with certain areas of fatty deposits but do not want to undergo any invasive surgical treatment like liposuction. A good candidate is someone looking for fat removal from a specific area such as the abdomen, hips, thighs, legs, buttocks, flanks, or arms. The treatment does not necessarily result in an overall weight loss, but results in improved shape, contour, and size reduction in the treatment area. If you are currently following a healthy diet or a good weight loss plan, results will be more significant and weight loss will more likely occur. Great results can be obtained for those who have up to 25 – 30 pounds or less to lose. Cavi-Lipo is ideal for those who have tried to shift the stubborn fatty bulges with diet or exercise and are aiming for a smoother and more balanced shape. Ultrasonic lipo is not a treatment for morbid obesity nor is it a weight loss cure. If a significant amount of surplus fat exists, we recommend successfully dieting before beginning the treatment program. What are the contraindications with Cavi-Lipo?

Individuals with acute or contagious disease, HIV, a history of cancer, kidney failure, liver failure, fatty liver, implant devices such as pacemakers or electrical prosthesis, epilepsy or MS should not undergo Cavi-Lipo. Pregnancy and breastfeeding are also contraindications for this procedure. Anyone with active contagious skin conditions will not be allowed to undergo treatments. It is also best to wait three to six months after a surgical procedure in the target area.

What if I have lost my weight and just need some lifting and tightening?

First of all, if you have lost your desired amount of weight, we applaud you for your success! If you have lost your weight and have saggy skin or cellulite that just won’t go away we can help you! At your initial consultation, we will determine the best course of action for your needs. You may benefit from contouring, tightening and lifting using Radio Frequency therapies and may not need Ultrasound Cavitation at all. In which areas is the Cavi-Lipo more effective?

All parts of the body where localized adiposity resides; therefore legs, abdomen and buttocks are the most appropriate sites but there’s no real limitation regarding body areas.

How long will it take to recover from Cavi-Lipo Sculpt Body Contouring?

You are able to return to your normal activities immediately. It is performed as a walk in, walk out and there is no lengthy recovery period as with surgical fat removal. Treatment is generally considered by most people to be painless, with no pain or discomfort post-treatment. A mild tingling and/or warm sensation have been reported. There are very few documented side effects to date, although bruising is considered to be rare and if it occurs will be very mild, some redness and mild swelling may be noticed for a very short time post-treatment.

How much time should pass between two sessions?

It is best to schedule your appointments a week apart and no closer than three days apart. It is essential to allow your body enough time to metabolize and excrete fats and waste materials after each session. Maintenance Cavi-Lipo sessions are recommended with the first four taking place one month apart and then once every four months after that to help you maintain your results. What kind of results can I expect?

Results will vary from dramatic first day losses of more than 3 inches to as little as 1/4 inch. The process continues even after the treatment is over and it is not unusual for a client to experience additional losses between Cavi-Lipo sessions and up to 2 weeks after a session. For some patients it may take multiple treatments to achieve desirable results but with each treatment cells are destroyed and the process is taking place. Everyone’s body processes differently. Cavi Lipo is a process not a sprint and if you stay with the program the end results are wonderful.

When will I see the results?

Most clients experience a reduction in circumference after the first session, with increasing results after each visit but especially after the third treatment and onward. The results may vary from person to person with different tissue structure, treatment area, age, metabolism, medications, and changes in hormones. Proper diet, adequate water intake and increased physical activity will certainly improve and help to maintain your results. Results will continue to improve for several weeks following the last treatment session. You will continue to metabolize fat for up to twelve weeks, which means that, as most people do not make new fat cells in later life, the loss can be permanent. Cavi-Lipo will also leave you with firmer, smoother looking skin than before, due to the use of the low frequency hand piece , which encourages the fibroblasts within the skin to produce collagen.

How many sessions of Ultrasound Cavi-Lipo is needed?

Although results are seen with 1 session it may take between 3 and 12 sessions to get the results you want . Results are also dependent on body mass and circumference size, age, hormonal balance, medications and your desired goals. Incorporating the eating suggestions included in your program will reduce the number of treatments that may be needed.

Why can’t I have caffeine or alcohol 48 hours before or after a treatment?

Alcohol and caffeine interfere with the lymphatic process to remove fat and metabolize it which can decrease your results.

How is it different than liposuction?

Liposuction is an invasive procedure that removes the entire area of fat cells from deposits beneath the skin using a hollow stainless steel tube (called a cannula) with the assistance of a powerful vacuum. Liposuction can be accomplished either with the use of general anesthesia, or with IV sedation, or totally by local anesthesia. In contrast, the Cavi-Lipo treatment is a 100% non-invasive that uses ultrasound and radio frequency applied externally to stimulate the fat cell and emulsify and release fat. There is no use of anesthesia, numbing agents or needles. There is no pain.

How is it different from other “non-invasive” body slimming techniques?

Is there any downtime?

There is absolutely ZERO downtime. During the treatment you will feel no discomfort, no anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment.

What areas of the body can I use Cavi-Lipo on?

The Cavi-Lipo is effective for all body areas where localized fat deposits or cellulite exists that are resistant to diet and exercise. Does it work on Cellulite? Yes, low frequency ultrasound (40kHz) generally works well on cellulite by focusing the ‘cavitation effect’ on the superficial fat tissue. Best results are obtained when the ultrasound is applied in conjunction with the ‘radio frequency’ (RF) treatment which helps to tighten and tone the skin.

Is it covered by insurance?

No, Cavi-Lipo is considered elective and aesthetic and are not covered by insurance.

Yes, there is minimal risk involved in using the Cavi-Lipo and it is considered a safe alternative to invasive procedures such as tumescent liposuction, lipodissolve and other non-invasive devices like the Accent, VelaShape, and Thermage, which rely on heating the tissue and can cause discomfort. None of these have the proven data showing how fat cell size is reduced. The Cavi-Lipo treatment is 100% non-invasive and causes no bruising or scaring. During the sessions you will feel no discomfort, no anesthesia will be used and you can assume normal activities immediately following each treatment.

Is it safe if I have a medical condition such as diabetes?

Yes, with two exceptions. If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, Cavi-Lipo should not be used. Additionally, if you have a pacemaker, this treatment is not for you. There are no known detrimental risks but potential unknown risks may exist. Cavi-Lipo may not be as effective on patients with diabetes or thyroid disorders where the metabolic system is potentially impaired.

Are there any side effects?

​The majority of clients have reported no adverse side effects. Most common are headaches immediately following the treatment or a strong desire to naturally eliminate waste within a day or two following the treatment. This is the body’s way of expelling toxins. It is recommended that you wait until after your last postpartum visit with your doctor (usually 6 weeks after birth) to begin Cavi-Lipo. It is not recommended if you are breast feeding.
